Jesús Peinado is Associate Professor and Senior Ph.D. Researcher at the Department of Computer Systems and Computation from the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV). He received his Degree in Computer Science and a PhD in Computer Science in 1992 and 2003 respectively. From 1991 to 2008, he has taught classes at various levels and locations on the UPV campus. In 2008, he became Associate Professor. He has been Deputy Director of Infrastructure at the School of Computer Science.
His research interests focus on parallel computing on various architectures, such as shared memory, distributed memory, especially in GPGPU (General Purpose Graphics Cards) and their applications to different scientific fields of physics and engineering. He has participated in European projects as well as national and regional research. He has published research articles at national and international conferences, and articles in high-impact journals listed in the Journal Citation Reports (JCR).
He currently teaches first-year programming at the Technical School of Industrial Engineering and at the Technical School of Engineering Design, and also basic knowledge of programming, introductory numerical methods at the School of Civil Engineering and Ports, and advanced parallel computing at the School of Computer Science.
